T.J. Martell Foundation Celebrity Studded 36th Honors Gala In New York, November 3, 2011

The T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research celebrated its 36th Annual Honors Gala on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York.

The diverse crowd was able to intermingle in the cozy setting where they enjoyed a fantastic cocktail reception, mouth watering hors d’oeuvres, full open bar and as well as viewing and bidding on the silent auction that raises finds for Cancer and Aids research.

This Foundation sources and supports early-stage research projects aimed at developing more effective clinical treatments which otherwise might not be funded. This Foundation has provided more than $250 million dollars for research that supports eleven top hospitals in the United States.

The foundation presented the Humanitarian of the Year Award to Bea Perez, Chief Sustainability Officer for the
Coca-Cola Company. The Spirit of Excellence Award  presented to Scott Borchetta, Chief Executive Officer of Big Machine Label Records. The Lifetime Philanthropic Award presented at the gala to Arnold Palmer, Golf Legend and Philanthropist and the Chairman's Award will be presented to actor and comedian Drew Carey.

 

Grammy Award winners Martina McBride and also Darius Rucker along with The Voice's Javier Colon performed for the crowd of an estimated 1,000 music and entertainment leaders, top business executives and celebrities.
