To meet, mingle, date and deal in the NY/Hamptons Social Scene
The 2011 New York City Beerathon on November 19, 2011 was an interesting concept, similar to the recent NYC Marathon and beer runs in Bay Ridge. It lasted over five hours, allowing plenty of time to drink 26 beers at 26 different Manhattan bars, located in both East and West Village.
The handlers were friendly and organized. The attendees were able to keep track of their progress, since each time they entered a new bar, the handlers hole punched a special lanyard which contained the names of all 26 participating bars. Each bar had 12-ounce craft beer waiting for you, which made the process even more enjoyable.
We were able to attend nine different bars. The most memorable beer was Lionshead Lager, served at Brooklyneer. The taste was unbelievable. The season pumpkin ale was also great, especially with the delicious burger served at Daddy-O which is an honorable mention in Zagat's nightlife guide.
